Regional Marketing

Marketing of regional products

If we are to preserve the incomparable beauty of our near-natural landscape, we have to make sure that the people in whose hands its active maintenance lies can earn their livelihood.

Eating regional products helps preserve our landscape, they are fresher and more natural – and you can taste it!

Why regional marketing?

With forests covering up to 90 % of the area, keeping the landscape open has become a question of survival in the Nature Park Black Forest Central/North. Maintaining a varied, cultivated landscape is essential not only for the survival of our indigenous flora and fauna, but also for the people living in the Black Forest.

The nature park puts regional products on your plate.

Open spaces and views are an experience for all our senses. Not only do they enrich every walk, but also the menu on our table – after all, open spaces are created by agricultural use. Cattle, sheep and goats keep the pastures open, and fruit orchards and fields are looked after by farmers. The tasty fruits, fresh milk products and healthy meat from the nature park taste all the better because they are produced in the healthy environment of the beautiful Black Forest.

But for the farmer, sustainable farming is not only hard work, but his products, which are of an excellent quality, are facing hard competition with cheap mass-produced products from abroad, so that farming of these sometimes remote areas hardly pays at all. Because we want to continue eating sweet cherries or juicy apples from the orchards of the nature, because we want to have healthy beef, tasty goat cheese and really fresh milk on our tables in the future, we want to support our regional farmers. In addition, buying regional products avoids damage to the environment caused by long-distance transport.
